The Brandl Motor

Brandl MotorThe Brandl Motor is the basis of a hybrid power train using a combination of combustion and electric engines. Powerful acceleration up to 50 kph is performed hydraulically by a pressure oil tank. Thus only a relatively small electric engine and a small accumulator as well are needed. Such a power train isn't expensive and can be easily placed in the engine compartment.

Compared to the four cycle engine the Brandl Motor consumes only half of the fuel on average because the pistons are moving only if they are needed. As to overland traffic where combustion engines will not be substitutable in the short run it might be possible to use a greater share of narrow bio fuel at least.
